SECOND TERM, FOURTHCLASS

Science, Technology, and Environmental Studies (STE132)

Science, Technology, and the Environment is an interdisciplinary field that examines science and technology through the lens of non-technoscientific concepts, such as sociology, history, and philosophy. This three (3) unit course focuses on selected topics that explore the interplay between technoscience and society, particularly in relation to the role of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in societal development.
The course encourages reflective engagement with topics and realities shaped by technoscience, analyzed within the context of social, cultural, historical, economic, political, philosophical, and ethical perspectives. Through this reflective knowledge, cadets are equipped to live meaningful lives and make informed, ethical decisions in the face of techno-scientific advancements, aligning with the roles and responsibilities expected of Academy graduates in nation-building.
