A PMA graduate is a military professional who possesses the broad and basic education holding a Bachelor of Science degree and who can competently use the knowledge learned from the Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Languages, Management, Mathematics, Humanities, Literature, Engineering and Technology in appropriate situations in his/her progressive military career.
This program is tasked with the mission of "implementing the academic portion of the Academy curriculum according to the standards prescirbed by the Academic Board." Its six departments are composed of both military and civilian male and female instructors. Headed by the Dean of Academics, it has the following seven departments:
To transform the cadets into principled, creative, and expressive military professionals through philosophical inquiry, artistic creativity, and linguistic proficiency.
To instruct and train the cadets so that they shall acquire the necessary knowledge in management and research, hone managerial and research skills, and develop the character essential to their success as professional officers.
To instruct, train, and develop the cadets in the interdisciplinary field of National Security so they can demonstrate a broad understanding of basic theories, applications, and appreciation of National Security for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the nation.
To instruct, train, and develop the cadets in the field of Social Sciences so that they shall be equipped with intellectual and analytical skills to become effective servant leaders and military professionals.
To instruct, train, and develop the cadets in the Mathematics discipline so that they shall possess the education, intellectual skills, and character essential to the military profession.
To instruct, train, and develop the cadets in the field of Information Technology.
To conduct the highest quality teaching and instruction to foster scientific literacy. Offering classes in Science, Technology and Society, Environmental Science, Physics, and Engineering, the department provides introductory-level courses to produce cadets with character essential to the military profession.
